Dear Crandall ISD Community,

Early voting for the Crandall ISD Voter-Approval Tax Ratification Election (VATRE) — Proposition A — begins today, October 20, and runs through Friday, October 31.
Election Day is Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

📍 Kaufman County polling locations are included in the attached document.

To learn more about the VATRE, visit www.crandall-isd.net/vatre.

💰 What Does This Mean for Crandall ISD Taxpayers?
•Proposed total tax rate: $1.1992 (an increase of $0.03)
•For the average home value in CISD: $315,957, it means an estimated tax impact of about $52.97 per year (roughly $4.40 per month)

For the owner of an average-valued home, the VATRE would result in a small increase, about the cost of one fancy coffee per month.

🗳️ Ballot Wording (Set by the State of Texas)

CRANDALL INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT SPECIAL ELECTION PROPOSITION A: THIS IS A TAX INCREASE
Ratifying the ad valorem tax rate of $1.1992 per $100 valuation in Crandall Independent School District for the current year, a rate that will result in an increase of 9.79 percent in maintenance and operations tax revenue for the District for the current year as compared to the preceding year, which is an additional $1,713,926.

In plain terms, for about $5 per month, this measure will help fund pay raises for all teachers and staff, fund safety, and classroom support by generating approximately $4 million in new annual revenue for Crandall ISD:
•$1 million from the local tax base
•$3 million from the State of Texas

Thank you for staying informed and engaged as we invest in our Pirate community.

Sincerely,
Crandall Independent School District
